News Item 1 - Ceduna Artist visit Oak Valley 26th of May 2008
Oak Valley Cultural Learning Trip.

On the 26th of May 2008 some of the women from the Art and Culture Centre & Coordinator Pam Diment travelled to Oak Valley for a cultural learning project. The women travelled along the Tuntara track to set up camp under the stars at Cook. The activities included damper making, cooking kangaroo tail & magu hunting (witchety grubs).

Cindy Watson, Margaret May & Mabel Queema provided cultural leaning about where to find bush food, what trees and the parts of the tree to use for artifacts. The Oak Valley elders also showed the artists how to cook the bush foods. This trip was a great way of teaching artists about culture. The artists are looking forward to visit again; the artists would like to thank the Oak Valley community for their hospitality.
